  1. Meeting business and reportsReview the October General Assembly draft minutes, then hear reports from PTO officers, school leadership, and the Volunteer and Events Committee.
  2. Asian Celebration Children's AreaConsider a carryover motion proposing that PTO chair the Children's Area. No decision has been made.
  3. School safety and securityDiscuss the school-safety questions listed under Good of the Order.

First PTO Meeting of the Year

Decisions

  • Increased the UO game volunteer support budget from $300 to $480 per year, or an average of $60 per game.
  • Selected PTO participation in Lunar New Year, Asian Night Market, Asian Celebration, and Guy Lee AANHPI events.
  • Approved a $500 Sunshine Committee budget for staff gatherings.
  • Created the Bike Bus Finance Committee, with at least three parents or staff who actively bike and co-chairs Mariko Lin and Lindsey Adkisson.

Postponed

  • The proposal for PTO to chair the Asian Celebration Children’s Area was tabled for a later meeting.

Discussion

Members also discussed how PTO participation and volunteer capacity shape the events and programs the organization can take on.
